There is a chain letter going round again. It's this crusty old one again. It starts: > Subject: LUCK > > WITH LOVE ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. > > This paper has been sent to you for good luck. The original is in New England. > It has been around the world nine times. The luck has now been sent to you. > > You will recieve good luck within four days of recieving this letter provided > you in turn send it on. This is no joke, you will recieve good luck in the mail. > > Send no money. Send copies to people you think need good luck. Don't send money > as fate has no price. Do not keep this letter. It must leave your hands within > ninety six hours. and goes on and on and ends: > REMEMBER, SEND NO MONEY > > DO NOT IGNORE THIS > > St. Jude It Works > > Nb. amended May 25 1989 to remove threats. Oxford. Nb. amended Jun 13 1989 to remove promises of wondrous things. Canterbury. Please do not forward these. The tiniest amount of thought shows that the resulting bulk of mail is infinite in the limit. The only reason it hasn't filled the universe's mailboxes in the years and years it has been going is that most people are sensible enough to ignore it. I can only assume that some people have never seen a chain letter before. Are people being so wasteful of the community's resources simply because the extra load doesn't cost them personally a penny? If so, I would suggest you contemplate the likely outcome if someone should think it is a problem. Please delete all copies of it from the disk. All copies. If you want to keep it as a memento, print a copy out and keep that. Ta Martin
